Jehovah Jireh – ‘The Lord provides’. How true we have found this to be as we finally arrived to the most tremendous welcome, in song and dance, at the Mothers’ Union Guest House, which will be our home for the next 12 nights.

Our first port of call was the Diocesan Centre where we were again welcomed in the usual exuberant manner by the staff, followed by a comprehensive tour of the ministries ending up in Bishop Joel’s Office who at present is attending the GAFCON conference in Kenya. We signed the well filled visitor’s book in his absence. As we meet with different groups we find that this custom is expected and considered a great honour.

Some of the team were invited to the nearby homes of two women – Mama Esther and Mama Joy, where they enjoyed fellowship and had the opportunity to minister to them through prayer. At the same time other team members visited the boarding department of a nearby school which facilitates a weekly bible study for visually impaired children. These children led a time of worship, singing and playing their traditional instruments which was a great blessing and inspiration to our members.

The theme for our trip is ‘Journeying Together’, based on the passage from Matthew 28 v 6, when after the resurrection, the women met the angel of the Lord, who invited them to ‘Come and see, then go and tell’. Already we have ‘seen’ many wonderful things which we look forward to sharing with you on this blog and of course when we get home.

Greetings from all the team – Anne, Carmen, Elsie, Georgina, Kay, Linda & Pearl
