Ploughing, reaping and planting: ‘New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from the hills and I will bring my people back from exile.’ (from Amos 9:13-14)

I trust you are well. I am thankful to God that this feels like a new season in Burundi – not having to learn everything from scratch and feeling more accustomed to life here.

I’ve been enjoying the theology study – ‘unlocking the Bible’ is my first module. A South African missionary told me he drove his library of theology books here from SA – taking 11 days – and that I can borrow them from him whenever I need to!

My colleagues came back from the evangelistic outreach with incredible reports of people being saved including many witchdoctors and Muslims. Please let me know if you’d like a copy of the report and I’ll email it.

The team from Christian Prayer Ministries (CPM) UK arrive on Tues 12 Oct and leave on Sat 23. They are: Hugh and Elizabeth, Chas (a friend who lead Crystal Palace Community Church) and Diana. Hugh, Elizabeth and Chas will stay with me and Diana with a neighbour. Training is on: 13th and 14th and follow-up 21st. In between each participant will have a 3 hour personal prayer ministry slot to receive more of God’s healing and experience the CPM style of prayer ministry.

We hope to have around 16 key leaders who are leaders in pastoral ministry within their denomination or ministry. My boss, Onesphore, has asked to come. Pray for healing, equipping and God’s directing as to how to use / adapt this model of prayer ministry here.

On their final Friday in Burundi, the CPM team is coming into my office at Harvest for Christ to share in devotions, meet the team and pray individually with each staff member.

On 29th, my aunt and uncle are coming for a long weekend en route to a safari and beach holiday in Tanzania. I find it amazing that both they and my parents will have been to Burundi this year! My parents were really moved by coming; pray that may be so for them too.

Healing retreat & 9 day school

I had a wonderful time at Ellel Africa. I was asked to go by Flame so I understand their teachings better but I also believe God had plans for me to be there! The teaching was so helpful especially some parts which focused on African issues.

I also greatly received from the Lord as He brought deep healing in my heart from some of the things I’ve carried for a long time and I felt my love for Jesus was reignited as I chose to release disappointments and trust Him afresh. During the week 3 people’s legs which had been uneven in length were extended during prayer ministry. Awesome!

Burundi cultural tip – after a daughter has got married, her father cannot visit her in her house.

Extra prayer info – if you’d like more prayer ammo, please email me and request it and I’ll send you brief, more regular updates.

Prayer points:

- Praise for excellent time with Ellel Africa; pray I may use all God has done in me and taught me.
- CPM conference: pray for 16 participants to come, be greatly blessed, healed and able to use the training.
- That I will be well organised with meals etc and cope with facilitating the team and hosting them with ease.
