It seems that apart from addressing the important issues of the Episcopal Church of Sudan (ECS), the Bishops have also planned something more leisurely. On 25th November 2012 the inaugural Bishops versus Deans football match will take place in Maridi with Bishops pitching their football skills to the test when they challenge the Dean’s in what promises to be a competitive match.

The Bishop Elijah of Cuibet will line up in goals while, Bishop Wilson of Ibba is likely to play on the wing and Bishop Justin will be the lone striker. Bishop Anthony from Kajo-Keji is likely to be the other winger and the word is that even Bishop Hilary of Yei intends to show off his soccer skills. It can’t be easy picking eleven players and three substitutes out of the 31 Bishops of the ECS. I wonder what colour the Bishops football strip is – pink or purple maybe?

Now, in some ways, I regret that I am departing on 6th November and will miss the big match. But be assured that I will bring you a full report, including the final result, the goal scorers and a ball-by-ball analysis in of what promises to be a match made in heaven!
