Jambo all! This is the first blog from the Blue ‘subteam’ of Team Uhusiano.

It doesn’t seem all that long ago since we didn’t know each other’s names and faced the daunting prospect of learning 20 odd of them. As one of the youngest members of the team, it was very exciting, as well as a tiny bit nerve-wracking, to see who I’d be spending not only two and a half weeks out in Kenya with, but also sharing a string of meetings with. Luckily, there are two girls around my age joining me but that doesn’t stop me from mingling with the “older folks” of the trip (older is used a bit loosely there…I think some of them are 18 at heart).

Having talked to everyone in Team Uhuisano, I’m blessed to have such lovely, friendly people to share this wonderful experience with. We all will bring different skills and personalities to the group and I am very excited to see this all come together in just under a week!

As suitcases are currently being packed, last minute bits and bobs are being collected and I’m sure, commissioning services being held, let’s not forget Ronnie, Maggie and Kelly who are preparing out in Africa for the forthcoming trip. May we pray that everything comes together smoothly for them.

So, it is only 6 days away until we face the journey out to Africa and I’m sure everyone is very excited as to what lies ahead!

God bless,
Sarah.
