This week has been quite busy. A group of enthusiasts from our team headed to a local school to run a kids’ club and the following day met with the Mothers’ Union in the area. Reports were very positive and everyone had an enjoyable time together. Other members of the team cracked on with building shelves, white washing the road markings and cabling the new building. Giraffes, zebras and elephants are amongst the animals that we spot on our way to and from the work site each day. We even have some ghekko’s that like to settle in Lisa, Sarah and Rebecca’s room every night!

Yesterday Bishop Gadiel came to Imbirikani to dedicate the new training centre and furniture that Sidney and the local fundi’s have been busy making. The bookshelves were dedicated in memory of Canon Bob Rudd, Sarah’s late grandfather as Sarah proudly placed the first books on the shelf. We enjoyed a time of worship together with the masai joining in their songs with clapping and dancing and us singing for them also.

On the way back to our evening base two of the local girls taught us a masai chorus, we were very pleased with ourselves and later that evening we thought it would be nice to teach them a song too. What could be better than the hokey kokey – actions and everything!

We are preparing ourselves for the journey back to Kajiado and it won’t be long until we are reunited with the red team for a catch up!
