The suncream is packed, tickets are printed and after laughing at each other’s passport photos, Team Kiwoko will soon be en route to Uganda! In two days time, our META Team will assemble at Belfast City Airport, ready to start the next step of our adventure. Our motley crew is made up of ten wonderful and slightly mad people – Brad, Cameron, Debbie, Elaine, Faye, Jade, Libby, Ross, Sandra and Laura (that’s me!), who are all packed and ready to get going!

Last night, our band of ten met to pick up our snazzy team shirts, and took some time to reflect on what’s ahead and share our fears and hopes. Excitement is thick in the air – we’re excited to see our friends Rory, Denise and Gideon, to form new relationships as we participate in the work of Kiwoko Hospital and to experience some sunshine as a change from the lovely Northern Irish drizzle!

Most of all though, we are excited to see how God moves in Kiwoko, in the lives and witness of the team there, and to see how He will move in our own hearts.

Ephesians 3:20-21 says..

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us.

We have heard so many stories of the amazing things God has done in Kiwoko hospital, and are so excited to experience and share in that work. Hopeful that God will use these two weeks in Uganda to change us in more amazing ways than we could ever imagine or ask, we start our journey expecting to see wonderful things. Please pray that our hearts will be open to new experiences and ever more of His Spirit – and keep checking the website to read about our adventures!

Laura
