Good to see you

Greetings from George Best airport.

Time flies when youre having fun.

Apparently Ive been in Northern Ireland for over two weeks now and its time to go home to Kiwoko.

Its been great to see lots of people and be overwhelmed by the good will and support for Kiwoko and the whole team there. If you are one of those folk then THANK YOU. It has been good to be encouraged. For all those who have enabled the practicalities of the last two weeks to work a particularly big thank you, and if I meant to meet up and we never did sorry – hopefully next time.

I have been overwhelmed by support from all sorts of quarters Queens University (depts. Nursing + Medicine), goodpractice.net (management consultants based in Edinburgh who are facilitating some materials for training our ward sisters,)Fields of Life, Management at the Ulster Hospital Dundonald, endless good folk in Medicine/dentistry in Northern Ireland offering equipment, books and training possibilities, friends and acquaintances giving money to support and develop the work at the hospital, and of course the ever smiling folk in CMSI Belfast office to try and co-ordinate my chaos.

It has been good to meet up with friends, family, supporters, colleagues; speak at a few gatherings including Dunmurry, Ballyholme Parish and Magheragall Parish; eat some great food, pray with some old friends, and enjoy some catching up with friends new babies and houses.

Itll also be good to get back to Kiwoko and catch up with folk I havent seen for the last few weeks, be surrounded by more colourful people again and get on with developing things I left half finished before heading for Bangor. I hear that I can expect three local junior doctors joining the team on my return which is perhaps the most exciting news all year three young Christians keen to work in a hospital like ours because of a sense of Gods call to serve the rural poor rather than be drawn by the big pay cheques and city life in Kampala.

Lets conclude:
Life is good.
Its been a good few weeks, but itll be good to get back tomorrow.
Thanks for reading.

Keep in touch.

Rory.
