International Markets

The Craft Project at Kiwoko relies on visitors to buy the crafts that our ladies make. But there are some times of the year when not many visitors are coming through. It is at these times that we realise how important it is for us to sell to foreign markets as well. As CMSI marketplace events happen over the next few weeks that people will realise when buying these crafts the dramatic difference they are making in the lives of people like Olivar.

When a plan comes together...

On 8th May, news of an Ebola case reached Kiwoko Hospital. Ebola is a highly contagious and usually fatal virus with no cure. Understandably, there was widespread panic in the local community.Dr Rory (Medical Superintendent) announced that we would set up an Isolation Ward in preparation for the likely outbreak. We were given 48 hours to turn a very modestly equipped building into a fully functional Isolation Unit…
