Seeds for change: CMS Ireland and Financial Support
Financial giving is one of the main ways of engaging with the work of CMS Ireland and providing support for our partners. We are hugely grateful for every donation we receive from individuals, churches and groups, and we do all we can to ensure money is properly managed and effectively used. We trust God to make money count, producing fruit from these offerings.
Money donated to CMSI falls into two broad categories:
+ Unrestricted Giving (General Fund)
Donate to General Fund Now
+ Designated Giving (Specific Partners & Projects)
Donate to a Designated Fund Now
Unrestricted Giving (General Fund)
Money donated to CMSI’s ‘General Fund’ gives us flexibility to cover shortfalls in partner/project support, to invest time and resources in developing mission partnerships and to work with churches throughout Ireland. Such giving also covers the costs of international transfers of designated donations and helps us monitor the use of these funds.
Support for this General Fund is vital if CMSI is to maintain its commitment to transfer donations to our Global Partners and Mission Partners in their entirety, without applying an administrative levee to those designated funds.

Designated Giving is targetted towards a specific aspect of the work of CMSI and our Global Partners. Every pound or euro received for a designated fund is used in support of the purpose for which it has been given – CMSI doesn’t apply an administration levee to designated donations.
Money can be directed towards:
+A Global Partner – there’s a general ‘pot’ for each of our Global Partners, to allow them maximum flexibility with how they use the support
+A Global Partner Project – there are opportunities to designate your support to specific projects and programmes of our Global Partners.
+A Mission Partner Family – you can support CMSI Mission Partners and other mission personnel.

Gift Aid (UK)
If you are a UK taxpayer, the UK Government’s Gift Aid scheme allows CMSI to reclaim tax on all your donations. This significantly increases the value of your donations, at no extra cost to yourself. All you have to do is download and complete the Giving Leaflet using the link below or contact the CMSI offices to request that a leaflet be posted out to you.
Please note: Any money claimed as Gift Aid on designated funds will be used in support of CMSI’s General Fund. This helps cover the costs of processing and monitoring designated giving, enabling us to continue our commitment to transfer your original donation without applying an administrative levee.
Tax Efficient Giving (Republic of Ireland)
If you pay PAYE income tax in the Republic of Ireland and donate more that €250 in a tax year, CMSI can claim tax relief on your donations. This significantly increases the value of your donations at no extra cost to yourself – the amount we can claim back depends on your rate of tax. The relevant form can be downloaded here. If your gift is eligible and you have not completed a form we will contact you at the end of the tax year.
Please note: Any money claimed through Tax Efficient giving on designated funds will be used in support of CMSI’s General Fund. This helps cover the costs of processing and monitoring designated giving, enabling us to continue our commitment to transfer your original donation without applying an administrative levee.
