Going Global, Venue TBC

Saturday, 04 October 2008 - Sunday, 05 October 2008

If you would like to explore what it means to get involved, more deeply, in cross-cultural mission then the Going Global weekend might just be for you.

Perhaps you’re beginning to look at the options for the first time, maybe you’ve been thinking about things for a while – you might even have served on a short-term mission placement or taken part in a META…whatever your situation we’d like to help you think through ways of playing your part in God’s global story.

The Going Global weekend is a place for you to reflect on your experiences and perceptions of global mission and to think about some of the ways in which to take things further.

During the weekend, there will be opportunities to meet others with an interest in global mission, to hear about CMS Ireland’s mission placement opportunities and consider how God is calling each of us to get going with mission, whether at home or somewhere else.

Sunday, 30 November 2008

Cmsisunday_copy

This year, for the first time in many years, we are encouraging churches, across Ireland to set aside a specific day to focus on mission and our connections with the global church.

Under the theme ‘embracing the ordinary’ CMS Ireland Sunday will provide a focus for parishes looking to engage with the everyday challenges of mission. Through a range of creative worship ideas and resources CMS Ireland Sunday will help churches explore how lives are changed and communities transformed when we are prepared to live the revolutionary values of heaven on earth.

The ‘embracing the ordinary’ resource pack provides Sunday service outlines, prayers, readings, alternative worship material, video reflections, posters and a whole host more. The material is flexible and can be easily adapted to suit your setting as we encourage you to make mission the focus.
