The long and winding road...

Ali and I have just returned from our Hospital in the Far West of Nepal, sure it is only 800km by road – happily we flew most of it on a Budha AIr 19 seater plane. The trip crosses two-thirds of Nepal and we see lots of territory. The high Himal peeking through the clouds, the dry earth – even more dry the further we get into the dry season: next rain? it could be June…let’s just forget the umbrellas. Going through the forests, amazing huge pine trees opening on to rhododendron forests just at the end of the blossom season, deep red blooms of glory. Some of the locals in Dadeldhura, where our hospital is, have been entrepreneurial and used the blooms as the basis for a drink – ‘Lali Gurans Teas’.

What a journey, long and tiresome, yet inspiring and beautiful. What a God to create such wonder.
