The recent Mid-Africa Partnership Conference, in Newcastle, saw the launch of a new book by one of CMS Ireland’s longest serving volunteers and former Mission Partner, Sheilagh Jebb.

Entitled ‘Going for God’, the book is a reflection on almost 40 years of mission service with the Church Mission Society. Starting during the 1950’s in Nigeria and subsequently moving on to Sudan, The Gambia and Sierra Leone, Sheilagh’s ‘mission story’ is an inspiration to those considering long-term service today.

Rachel Brittain, CMS Ireland’s Communications Coordinator, who oversaw the book’s publication, commented, “In many ways Sheilagh’s story is a remarkable one but she isn’t sharing it so that we can marvel at her efforts – far from it! At its core this is a book that highlights the importance of obedient service – it’s fundamentally a story about God’s call, God’s leading and God’s provision. Our hope, and indeed Sheilagh’s, is that it will encourage others to respond to the call of God on their lives.”

Copies of ‘Going for God’ (priced €8/£6) can be ordered through either our Dublin or Belfast offices. P&P may apply.
