Friday 13th March, 2.30pm, CMS Ireland’s Belfast Offices

On Friday 13th March CMS Ireland’s Belfast Offices will host an afternoon with Bishop Joel Obetia, from Madi West Nile Diocese, Uganda.

Bishop Joel is visiting Northern Ireland as a guest of Armagh Diocese from 12th March – 18th March and a last minute opportunity for a public meeting has arisen.

Many people will be aware Northern Uganda has faced significant challenges in recent years – due to the ongoing rebel activity of the Lord’s Resistance Army and political instability in neighbouring Sudan and DR Congo.

The church in Madi West Nile continues to offer hope in the midst of brokenness and is playing a vital role in rebuilding communities.

In the summer of 2008 Aart and Geesje den Breejen, CMS Ireland Mission Partners, began work at the Vocational Training Centre in Arua. This is just one sign of a growing partnership between the Diocese of Madi West Nile and the church in Ireland.

If you would like to hear, first hand, about how the local church in Northern Uganda is working to bring the transforming power of the Gospel to life – and perhaps be inspired to deepen your engagement with mission – then please join us.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be served during the meeting and it would greatly help us if you could RSVP to Gladys in our Belfast office by Thursday 12th March.
