From the previous update, the team had just been commissioned in Waringstown. The next time the group will be meeting, will be at the airport!
I should introduce myself at this early point. I’m Robert Coffey and I’m from Waringstown COI. I have the role, along with two others, Michael and Rachel, of being a diarist. In other words we will be keeping you up to date on what is going on over in Kenya.
At the moment we are still at home and looking forward to the big trip which is close! As I’m sure you know we leave Northern Ireland on Sunday. The team will fly onto London and then arriving in Nairobi on Monday. From then the team will travel by road to Kajiado.
Up to this point the team has extensively prepared for the trip. The preparation has included learning some words in the local language ‘Kiswahili,’ learning about the local area, the local culture, practising sketches and songs and not to forget the dreaded injections.
In the final few days coming up to the trip I would ask you to remember the whole team in your prayers and especially for their safe travel over to Kenya. Hopefully the next post will come from Kenya.
