it's wet on deputation...

Last week we had a great couple of visits: first to Seymour Hill for the Luncheon Club, thanks Eric for organising it and to everyone’s warm welcome.

It was raining when we arrived and it was raining when we left for our next venue in Clougher. It rained on the way there, as we were there and on the way back…it rained after we left and the floods came up as we have seen on the TV News.

Pity we can’t ship some of our rain out to Kenya…

Thanks to Margaret and her MU team for the warm welcome to the Mothers’ Union event, shared with other local church ladies’ groups. We were brought into the middle Fardross forest and it was dark, it felt like it could have been anywhere. A wee light appeared and lit up the car park and an Orange Hall, commandeered in lieu of the Church Hall which was under renovation. It was warm and very nice to be with the 50 members who braved the wet night to come out. We shared stories, gave a challenge and then ate some Chapatti and Vegetable Curry as a starter before the traditional Northern Irish sandwich Supper which was enjoyed by all. The curry went down particularly well well and added a taste to the flavour of the night, focusing on Nepal.

With just a few deputation events remaining, we were able to reflect that we have presented Nepal in many venues during our Home Assignment period, mostly Chrches and Church Halls, but also a GAA Club and now in an Orange Hall! We look forward to Newry, Belfast and Dublin to finish off this year.

It is great to get out to meet so many people and share what God is doing in Nepal and give encouragement to faith. We continue to hear stories from friends of ‘great things happening’; one such can be found at http://www.new-wineireland.co.uk/Nepal.htm (content not from CMS Ireland). Other friends from Ballymena Parish are just returning week commencing 30 Nov – they have been having a great time working with our Global Partners . Look out for more opportunities to go to Nepal next year!
