The festive season is in full swing, with Christmas trees, lights and the search for presents for loved ones occupying much of our thoughts. At this time of giving, we want to celebrate with you the partnership of Seapatrick Parish, Banbridge with Kiwoko Hospital in Uganda, who have given of the hearts, prayers and finances to support a building project at the hospital which has recently been completed.

Seapatrick Parish Church has been a Link Parish with Kiwoko Hospital for many years and is well established as a faithful supporter of its work in Luwero Diocese. Throughout the past two years, the Mission Committee in Seapatrick has co-ordinated, and the parishioners generously responded, to a fundraising programme to finance support for senior staff housing at Kiwoko.

The parish was able to raise £20,000 for the building project through collections and various fund-raising activities – an amazing amount of money which reflects their determination, passion and commitment to the work of Kiwoko.

Talking about this building project Niall Manogue, Regional Mission Partner for Mid & East Africa, says,

“These buildings will make a huge difference to the hospital in Uganda. Quality care depends on quality and experienced staff. These new buildings go some of the way towards attracting good staff to come to work in Kiwoko hospital, and to stay long term. Our thanks go to the Committee in Seapatrick Parish and to the parishioners. This is an extremely generous level of support , particularly in the current economic climate.”

So we give thanks for the support, in prayer and through finance, which Seapatrick continues to give to Kiwoko Hospital and pray that they will continue to be blessed through their partnership with the hospital.
