In January, a small META (Mission Experience Team Abroad) from Connor Diocese led by Ven. Stephen Forde, Archdeacon of Dalriada and Chair of the Connor Council for Mission travelled to Yei Diocese in Southern Sudan for ten days. Joining him in Sudan, were Karen Bushby (Diocesan Communications Officer) and David Cromie (Diocesan Accountant).

The team of three recently took part in the CMS Ireland day conference Sudan: A New Dawning and shared their experiences and reflections on the visit to Sudan with attendees. The team have now also posted reports and photos on the Connor Diocese websiteclick here to find out more about their visit to Yei Diocese.

The Partnership between the Diocese of Yei and the Diocese of Connor is well established. The practical expression of this link has been the building of a new primary school in Mongo Archdeaconary, through the financial and prayerful support from individuals and parishes across Connor Diocese.

The January META was to help lay foundations for a Connor Diocese META to Yei in July 2010 which will further develop this relationship. For more information about the META, please click here to visit the Connor Diocese website.

Please remember the Partnership Link between these Dioceses, that it will continue to grow and flourish, and in particular that the visits in 2010 will be a real blessing to those in Yei, and to those in Connor Diocese.
