My name is Myrtle. I work for Church Army and in that capacity I serve in St. Saviour’s Church of Ireland in Craigavon.

I am very excited to be part of the Ekisa Team going to work at Kiwoko Hospital this August. I can hardly believe that it is almost eight years since I was there before. At that time we travelled from Luwero Diocese to do a weekend of mission in Kiwoko and I have very fond memories of that time. I am really looking forward to going back and seeing all the changes that have taken place.

Preparation for this team has been really busy but we are almost there… most of the programme has been planned and we have got most of the injections we need. Our team t shirts and hoodies are ordered and the insect repellent has been bought.
As part of my fundraising I held a coffee morning at our house and unfortunately it was a very wet morning so everyone was crammed inside instead of enjoying sunshine in the garden. It was an amazing mixture of friends, family and neighbours, people from Church Army, people from the local churches. Some of the people who came I had never met before but it was great to see them. Two of my family travelled from Cork with a car load of tray bakes to help out. We are still eating tray bakes!!

Please continue to pray for us as we prepare in heart and mind for the journey to Uganda, please pray for the team in Uganda as they prepare to work with us and please pray for the children and young people we will be working with.

We will keep you updated over the next few weeks and the time when we will be in Uganda.
