It is not long now until the CMS Ireland Annual General Meeting! This is an important event in the Society’s calendar, bringing members, supporters and staff together to reflect and give thanks for the past year, and to look ahead to the future. The 2011 AGM is taking place on Saturday 21st May 2011 in Malahide Parish.

This is the official meeting of CMS Ireland Members and our Board of Trustees to carry out some important Society business. One of the most important functions of the AGM is the election of our Board Members.

Could you be our newest Board Member?

This year CMS Ireland is seeking to appoint three new Board Members at our next AGM. We particularly welcome nominations from the Republic of Ireland at this time. To find out more about the Board of CMS Ireland, click here or contact us .

At this important time in the Society’s history, we are seeking new CMS Ireland Board Members who will bring their gifts and passion for mission to help guide and shape the future of CMS Ireland.

If you are a member and know someone who you think could serve the Society in this way – please ask them if they would be willing to stand – and then nominate them!

All Members of the Society who have requested an AGM Pack will have received a Trustee Nomination Form. PLEASE NOTE: The deadline for submission of nomination forms is 2.30pm on Wednesday 18th May 2011 to our Dublin Office.

Please do pray for the nomination and election process for new members of the CMS Ireland Board of Trustees. It is vital to the work and life of CMS Ireland that we have a strong and passionate Board who are inspired by God’s vision for the work of the Society in the years to come.

Who are the Board?

CMS Ireland’s Board of Trustees is a group of people from across Ireland who are elected to be representatives of the Society’s membership. They come from all backgrounds and have an array of gifts and skills which they offer to the Society.

What do they do?

The Board of Trustees is crucial to work and ministry of CMS Ireland. It is their role to govern the Society – prayerfully overseeing and developing our work. The Board is specifically responsible for CMS Ireland’s strategy, finances and policy.

Who can be on the Board?

Any member of CMS Ireland, or someone who is willing to become a member, can be nominated by a fellow member to be put up for election to the board at the Annual General Meeting. If elected by Society Members at the AGM, the new Board member will serve on the Board for a term of three years, after which they are eligible for re – election for a further three year term, and so on until they decide to retire.
