On Sunday evening, team members of the CMS Ireland META from Lisburn Cathedral were commissioned in a special service as they prepare to travel to Yei Diocese in Sudan.

Everyone in the META contributed to the service, choosing the worships songs to reading the passages. Rev Sam Wright addressed the team and the congregation, sharing from his own experiences about the challenges that they may face and drawing from the example of Jesus and the Samaritan Woman in John 4. CMS Ireland Staff Members Gillian Maganda and David Gough also took part in the service of commissioning.

The seven person team have been attending training meetings with CMSI staff, holding fundraisers, getting vaccinations and planning a full programme over the past few months. The Lisburn Cathedral META led by the Curate Rev Simon Genoe and Zara Philips, will be leading relationship courses and youth missions in Mongo and Yei.

Please pray for the Lisburn Cathdral META: Simon, Zara, Lauren, Grace, Matthew, Michael and Victoria. The team have produced a prayer letter which you can download to support them prayerfully during their time in Sudan.
