CMS Ireland regret to announce the cancellation of the visit to Ireland of Right Rev. Hilary Adeba, Bishop of Yei Diocese in South Sudan.

Bishop Hilary, who is well known to many in Ireland thanks to his long partnership with CMS Ireland, was due to spend nine days visiting Link Parishes and supporters in Dublin, Moira, Lisburn, Larne and Belfast. He was scheduled to speak at a special South Sudan Focus event next Tuesday, taking as his theme: ’What the future holds’.

Unfortunately, recent weeks have seen unexpected delays in the processing of Bishop Hilary’s British and Irish Visas. You may well have joined us in praying for the situation. Just one day before his scheduled departure, the Bishop was informed today that his Visa and Passport were not ready in time for him to travel.

On behalf of Bishop Hilary, CMS Ireland apolgises that he will not be able to fulfill his programme on this occasion. We hope to arrange another visit from the Bishop at a later date. In the meantime, we offer our thanks to those individuals who, over the past two weeks, have done whatever they could to help expedite the process.
