CMS Ireland’s Annual Project for 2013 focuses on Education in South Sudan – the newest country in the world. All Things New explores the importance of schools and teaching in the Diocese of Ibba, where Primary Education provision is extremely limited. The Church in Ibba has identified this issue as one of its main mission priorities and the project seeks to support them in this work.

In addition to raising funds for Ibba, the project aims to help children discover something about South Sudan, explore the importance of education and learn that God wants them to make a difference. The Annual Project Resource pack includes stories from the life of David, along with various activities and crafts to help children learn more about mission. Movie clips and photos from South Sudan are also provided.

All Things New is a great resource for Sunday School teachers who are keen to share the basics of mission with their children or who are simply looking for original, creative material produced here in Ireland.

I am currently working as a VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) volunteer in Yei, South Sudan. I know CMS is very active here. I am wondering if a copy of this new resource might be available for my home parish, which is in March, Cambridgeshire, UK. Since the Parish is being kept informed of my work here and since I am sure the Sunday School leaders would be interested in doing something on South Sudan this resource sounds ideal. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for this message, Susan. We'd certainly be happy to send your church some info on the Annual Project. Once the material is published, we'd gladly send them any resources they decide to order. I'll send you an e-mail to exchange further info. Roger Cooke [Mission Resource Manager]

Re. PIT STOP in Enniskillen I am concerned about the timing. I fear the 5.30pm.would be most unsuitable for the Sunday School Teachers in Clogher Diocese. I hope you can reconsider this matter. Kind regards. Jim

Thanks for the feedback, Jim. Bearing in mind it's a different format this year - a 'drop-in' rather than a formal presentation - we thought that the time slot might work well. However we will of course change the time/date if it doesn't suit folk. We're making contact with those who attended the event last year to check whether or not the proposed time suits them and based on the response, we will decide tomorrow morning, one way or the other. Many thanks, Roger
