It's been a hard day's night...

Karen Bushby is Connor Diocese’s Communication Officer and since our arrival in Yei, South Sudan, she has been working non-stop taking photos, shooting video and writing for Connor Connections and the Diocesan website.
The CMS Ireland Connor Diocese META team arrived safely in Yei on Tuesday for the first visit of Bishop Alan Abernethy to South Sudan. One of the main objectives of the visit is to sign a new 5-year Partnership Agreement between Connor Diocese and Yei Diocese. This is Karen’s second visit to Yei, having been on a META from Connor in 2011. This time, she is accompanying the bishop and team to cover the occasion for the diocese.
They say a woman’s work is never done…well that certainly applies to this woman as she tries to cover every meeting of the bishop and team as they engage in their various activities. On our first day this consisted of walking around the various diocesan institutions taking photographs and making shorthand notes of every encounter we had. Yesterday we walked to Yei General Hospital for a visit and Karen was hard at work again taking notes as we met the various staff and patients. Today she covered the opening of the 5th Yei Diocesan Ordinary Synod, the signing of the 5-year Agreement and even had time to oversee Bishop Alan and Stephen Forde being interviewed by two Sudanese newspapers – The South Sudan News and The New National.
After two days hard slog Karen deserved a rest and as you can see I caught her having a well-earned foot soak outside her room in Yei Guesthouse. All in a day’s work as Connor Diocesan Communications Officer.

Don’t forget that there are also news updates from the Yei team on the Connor Website
