All Things New, CMS Ireland’s Annual Project for 2013, was officially launched last Wednesday by the Bishop of Down and Dromore, Harold Miller, at a special event in the Good Book Shop, Belfast.

The All Things New resource provides creative, original material for Sunday Schools and youth groups to help children and young people explore the biblical story of mission and to discover something about life in South Sudan and the work of the Church there.

Speaking at the launch event, CMS Ireland’s Mission Director, Ronnie Briggs, emphasised the significant impact of the Annual Project over many years. Through this resource, many thousands of children have been introduced to the biblical story of mission and have discovered how the Church in other parts of the world is seeking to make a difference in real, practical ways.

Ronnie also highlighted the significant challenges of providing Primary Education in South Sudan and shared how the Church there sees education provision as a major priority.

Bishop Miller recently visited South Sudan as part of a CMS Ireland joint META team from the Dioceses of Albany (USA) and Down and Dromore. In launching the new resource, he shared some of his own reflections from this and previous visits to the country and he gave his enthusiastic support to the Annual Project.
