Sunday morning and we suddenly realised “Dawn services” are not reserved only for Easter morning as we all hurried to get ready for the 7am service in Emmanuel Cathedral, Aura. We felt very much at home with the familiar words of Morning Prayer, reminding us that we are all brothers and sisters in the world-wide Anglican Communion. However, with the traditional instruments and two hour long service, there was no mistaking that we are in Africa.

This was the first of three back to back services in this contemporary cathedral, which was dedicated last year. So different from our Cathedral of St Columb, which is over 400 years old.

Later in the morning the joy and enthusiasm of the 500+ children in the two Sunday Schools in which we were invited to teach, was the highlight of our day. If the faith of these children is in any way a reflection of what is doing in Uganda, then then the baton of faith is without doubt, being passed on.
