The only way is up except when it’s not!

We boarded the bus to go to Prayer Mountain, which was to be a once in a lifetime experience for many of us, including the Ugandan’s. The bus journey was a ‘real’ African adventure with singing and percussion accompanying us for most of the journey. The African women came well prepared with their hymn books, and the Irish were able to join in in many of the choruses.

Without a satnav or signposts and a driver who didn’t know where he was going, it wasn’t surprising that we got lost. Because of all of this we had to be content with reaching only the village at the base of the mountain.

Although we didn’t get to the summit of Prayer Mountain, we had an inspiring, prayerful, praise blessed journey. The whole experienced proved to be a blessing to us all. God is everywhere, we didn’t have to be on any particular mountain to be close to Him. I suppose it gives us some idea of what the Psalmist meant when he said “I will lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from?” Ps 121:1.
