People have been so good to us in the last three months. We have been blessed by friends, family and strangers giving us accommodation, transport, food, support, encouragement, wisdom, time….

Thank you to everyone who has helped us in different ways and whose company we enjoyed – we are very very grateful.

Our three months in Ireland proved to be a rather rushed affair. It was good to do the things we have done and seen the people we have seen, but amazingly we have now returned to Uganda with many intentions uncompleted! Sorry for when we didn’t catch up you as well as we would have wished.

It is a blessing to have been able to attend many different parishes during our time in Ireland and we enjoyed catching up with many who support the work of Kiwoko Hospital and our family. The friendly nature and openness of Northern Irish people has surprised us yet again.

Since coming back to Uganda, it has been good to meet friends in Kiwoko and to enjoy catching up with the ups and downs of their lives while we have been away. Dr Peter has done a great job of keeping the place going in my absence, but there was still plenty of things awaiting my arrival.

Thanks to all our friends and family for being so patient with our disorganisation and for releasing us to return to Kiwoko for another while. We anticipate living and working in Kiwoko for some years, but being back in Ireland for 6 weeks in 2015. Meanwhile we have various teams expected in the year ahead – if you are planning to be on one of them, we’ll see you soon; if you are considering being on one of them…just do it.

Rory, Denise + Gideon.
