Tony Moffett, one of CMS Ireland’s new Mission Partners in Training, is currently in Madi West Nile Diocese, Uganda for an introductory visit. As part of his training, Tony is spending a year studying at Belfast Bible College, but later in 2014, he hopes to take up a role with the Madi West Nile Diocese in Eccumenical Vocational Training Centre (VTC) in Arua.

Tony is currently on a short visit to Uganda, to meet with key staff at the VTC and the diocese and to spend time with the den Breejen family, who are coming to the end of their term as CMS Ireland Mission Partners in Arua.

Tony sent this brief message from Arua.

Hello from Arua,

It is just over a week since my arrival to Arua and I was greeted by around 1500 youth at the first National Youth Conference in the Cathedral. The talks and program for the youth from throughout Uganda was excellent, over the week long residential conference. The school facilities were perfect for giving both the young men and women their own space not far from the Cathedral. The Bishop and former Archbishop was in attendance with the former Archbishop Henry giving daily talks.

Preparations are well under way at the training facility for the start of another year. There has been many meetings with the staff and local community. From local business to government bodies all giving some support to the Vocational training center. It is exciting to have so much support for this center, having met just a few of the disadvantaged men this center is helping to train.

Thank you for your prayers
God bless
Tony Moffett – Arua
