Over the past six weeks, CMSI Mission Partners Rory and Denise Wilson, along with their son, Gideon, have been on Home Assignment in Ireland. During that time, they’ve spoken at a number of Sunday Services and other gatherings in link parishes, sharing stories of how God is at work, transforming lives, at Kiwoko Hospital in Uganda. They’ve also spent time catching up with friends and family and meeting with other groups and individuals who support the work at Kiwoko.

Their speaking programme with CMSI culminated in a Uganda Focus Event, held in St Patrick’s Parish, Coleraine on 25th April. It was an encouraging evening of praise, of stories and of prayer. CMSI’s Personnel Manager, Gillian Maganda had this to say about the evening:

“It was lovely to hear first-hand how God has been at work in Kiwoko Hospital over the past 10 years since Rory first went there as a Mission Partner in 2005, and then joined by Denise in 2008. As part of our work in CMSI, we want to encourage people to live ‘missional lives’ – to live out our faith in whatever context God has called us too. So it was encouraging to hear how that looks for the Wilson Family on a day-to-day basis, living and working in a busy Christian hospital in rural Uganda.

“As part of the programme, it was very special to have members the North West Prayer Group come up and pray over Rory and Denise as they embark upon a new term of service in Uganda.”

Many thanks to St Patrick’s for kindly hosting the event and for everyone who took part to make it a very memorable night.

Rory, Denise and Gideon head back to Uganda next week. Please do pray for them as they settle back into life and work in Uganda and as they make plans for the next couple of years.
