On Sunday morning at a service in their home parish, Ronnie and Maggie Briggs were commissioned for a new term of Mission Partner service in Kenya.

I am with you and will watch over you wherever you. (Genesis 28:15)

Just as God reminded Jacob that He would be with Him, He too has assured Ronnie and Maggie that He will be with them, as they prepare to return to Kenya, to serve alongside the staff in the Diocese of Kajiado.

The Rev David Palmer, along with the church family in Magherally Parish, hosted a re-commissioning service for the Briggs before they depart Ireland on 15th August 2017. CMSI staff members, Rev Roger Thompson and Gillian Maganda took part in the service and joined with the congregation as they prayed for Ronnie and Maggie.

Over the last five months, Ronnie and Maggie have visited many of their link parishes and shared about their work in Kenya. They’ve also enjoyed the chance for a rest and some time with family and friends.

Please continue to pray for Ronnie and Maggie in the coming weeks as they pack up and say farewell to family and loved ones – such partings are never easy. We pray too that God will smooth the road ahead for them as they return to communities that are experiencing severe drought and famine, due to climate change and rains having failed again.

As heaven came down to earth for Jacob, we pray too that God would break through, and bring physical showers of blessing to communities throughout East Africa at this very challenging time.
