Sudan – Diocese of Yei, John and Poppy Spens. Please pray for the Diocese of Yei Health Committee which meets today. The Committee manages the work of the Martha Clinic, where work has really developed over the past year. The Committee needs to decide if it will take on the management of a nearby eye clinic. Give thanks for the excellent staff that have been recruited locally and pray for Poppy as she manages an increasingly large team and busy facility. Poppy will hand over the running of the clinic to local staff in September.

Sudan – Diocese of Yei, John and Poppy Spens. Please give thanks for the new facilities and new courses at the Yei Vocational Training College and for the record number of students. Pray that good progress can be maintained and that finance can be found to run the College in future years. Pray for John Spens in his management of the College and for Rev Richard Ali, the new College Chaplain. Please pray about the spiritual life of the College, that it is a place where students and staff grow in their faith.

Sudan – Diocese of Yei, John and Poppy Spens. Pray for the next ALPHA course in Immanuel Cathedral, Yei which John and Poppy will run for 10 weeks in June, July and August. Pray also for the development of the Christian bookshop and craft shop.

Sudan – Diocese of Yei, John and Poppy Spens. Pray for the new Archbishop of the Sudan, Most Rev Daniel Deng Bul, who faces a very challenging role in steering the Episcopal Church of the Sudan during the coming months and years. The Archbishop and other bishops will be attending the Lambeth Conference.

Egypt – The Maganda Family are finishing work projects and continuing to help run Refuge Egypt, with all the associated joys and problems. Pray for a suitable replacement to take over the Coordinator’s job and Development Office. Pray for an English family currently considering the Coordinator’s post. Pray for God’s leading and direction in this whole process.
