Nepal: In May, the Prime Minister (from the Maoist party) resigned, prompting fears of a return to political chaos and potentially, violence. Pray for peace in Nepal and for the political leaders to remain calm and committed to working together. Pray for the Nepali people amidst renewed protests and disruptions.
Nepal: Pray for Sarah Hutchinson, who returns home after 5 months in Nepal as part of a STEP programme. In particular, give thanks for her work with HDCS and for the many friendships she developed in Kathmandu. Ask God to guide Sarah as she considers her options for future work.
Romania, Bucharest: Pray for the happiness and spiritual health of the resident community in the sheltered housing project at Precupetii Vechi (All Saints’) Church. Pray that they may feel a real sense of community with other residents and with staff.
Romania, Bucharest: Pray for Fr Tudor as he plans for the future of the health centre in central Bucharest. Ask for wisdom in discerning the priorities for service provision.
Romania, Brasov: Give thanks for Fr Valentin and the openness of the young people with him. Pray that he will continue to be able to share the gospel with young people and answer their questions about faith and religion.
Romania, Brasov: Pray for the staff of SCUT as they mentor the young people who use their services and as they help them to tackle the issues they face. Pray for strength of character and will for the young people as they make the difficult transition into life in the community
Uganda, Madi West Nile Diocese, Aart and Geesje den Breejen: Pray for wisdom, as Aart and the team plan for the future of the West Nile Ecumenical Vocational Training Centre in Arua. Pray especially for solutions to some current challenges facing the management of the Centre.
Uganda, Madi West Nile Diocese, Aart and Geesje den Breejen: Pray for the safe arrival of CMS Ireland STEP volunteer, Rachel Manning, as she joins Aart and Geesje for 5 weeks’ mission service. Pray that the experience would challenge and encourage Rachel, whilst bringing blessing to her hosts in Uganda.
Uganda, Madi West Nile Diocese, Aart and Geesje den Breejen: Give thanks that all the Vocational Training Centre students who enrolled in the first term completed that term of studies well. Pray that the upcoming term will be as successful.
Uganda, Madi West Nile Diocese, Aart and Geesje den Breejen: Give thanks for Aart and Geesje’s children – Anne Fleur, Ruben and Jan Lucas – who have settled in well at school and into life in Arua. Pray for continued good health and that they would enjoy their time in Uganda.
