DR Congo: Our long time partner Archbishop Fidele Diropka has retired. His successor is Archbishop Henri Isingoma, formerly Bishop of Boga, and we look forward to building a strong relationship with him. Pray for both of them as they each face these big changes in their lives.
DR Congo, North Kivu Diocese: Pray for Bishop Enoch, as he seeks to invigorate the diocese. In particular, pray for the Diocesan Renewal Conference scheduled for 3rd to 9th September and for the Diocesan Synod that precedes it.
Romania, Brasov: Pray for the staff of the SCUT project as they provide support and direction to young people who have left state orphanages. Ask God to give them wisdom as they offer good counsel.
Romania, Brasov: Give thanks for Nicola Anderson (STEP) and for the time she spent in Brasov this summer, working with the young people from the SCUT project. Pray the relationships she developed will continue to grow and that the link between Ireland and Romania will become stronger.
Romania, Brasov: Give thanks for the META team from West Cork that visited Romania in the summer. Pray that they will be able to impact their churches with all that they have experienced and that they would be encouraged by God’s work in Romania.
Burundi, Anglican Province of Burundi: Pray for the new school term and academic year and in particular for the work of education in all the dioceses. Pray for head teachers and teachers in Church schools and for students returning to the diocesan bible schools and Matana Theological Institute.
Burundi, Anglican Province of Burundi: Pray for the completion and opening of new school buildings in Mwakiro, Muyinga diocese, and Mushasha, Gitega Diocese – a project funded by Irish Aid through CMS Ireland. Pray that the schools will be able to provide the pupils with quality education and hope for the future.
Burundi, Anglican Province of Burundi: Remember Alison Gill, as she continues her language training and creates resources that will help her in the new year as she begins to run workshops for pastors in the provision of trauma counselling. Pray that Alison will know God’s presence and peace
Nepal, Deirdre & Mark Zimmerman, with Zac and Benjamin: The Zimmermans returned to Nepal in August, after five months Home Assignment in USA and Ireland. Give thanks for the safe travel they enjoyed throughout these months and for memorable times with family and friends. Pray for their families ‘at home’ and for the many churches they visited.
Nepal, Deirdre & Mark Zimmerman, with Zac and Benjamin: Pray for a good ‘re-settlement’ to family life back in Nepal. Pray for the process of settling into a new apartment, and continue to pray for the boys – for Zachary, starting 2nd grade at KISC, and especially for Benjamin as he settles into a new school.
