NEW YEAR’S PRAYERS: Thank God for the year ahead, a year that is full of new opportunities to Love God and Love Others. Pray that God would direct and bless CMS Ireland and all of our partners in 2011.

SUDAN: Give thanks for all of our Global Partners in Southern Sudan and pray for the many challenges they face amidst political uncertainty and poverty. Pray for the links with the Church in Ireland, that God would bless and nurture these relationships. And pray for peace during the run-up to next week’s referendum.

KENYA, Urban Development Programme, Nairobi: Give thanks for the safe arrival last year of twin boys Mucai and Koingori, born to Louise Wambui, the co-ordinator of the UDP programme. Louise returned from maternity leave at the end of November – pray for her as she adjusts to this new work/family balance.

In light of this, please also pray for Lucy Irungu, currently looking after the Urban Development Programme on her own. Pray for God’s strength and energy for both Kathleen and Lucy at this time of transition.
