Give thanks for the ministry of Archbishop Daniel Deng as he leads the Church at this challenging time. Pray for him as he chairs the Justice, Peace and Reconciliation Commission on behalf of the government. Archbishop Deng deeply values our partnership and prayers.

SOUTH SUDAN: Ibba Diocese
In March, the new church office, training centre and Bishop’s house were dedicated by Archbishop Deng. He also laid the foundation stone of the new cathedral. This is a wonderful achievement and great encouragement to the Christians of Ibba Diocese. Pray that the buildings will be used to God’s glory and the furtherance of His kingdom.

Pray for Nigel and Carol Weallans as they finish their few months serving in Ibba, in English teaching and health promotion. Pray that God will show them His next step for their lives. Remember too, the new Ibba Girls’ School recently opened and pray that the children there will grow in wisdom and faith.

Give thanks that Jenny Smyth was able to meet with some of the displaced people on her recent visit to Maridi. Pray for the three volunteer teachers providing a temporary school for over 120 children in the church building. Ask that God would bless and guide all their efforts.

Pray for Bishop Justin as he gently leads his people. Ask that God would strengthen the management capacity of the diocese. Pray for Chaima Christian Institute as the staff team develops new courses in IT, English, agriculture and theology.

Mission Experience Teams Abroad
Pray for the small team – Paul Ferguson, Maureen Bennett, Brian Purcell and Rosemary Shaw – travelling to Kajiado for two weeks, to facilitate key areas of learning for staff and students at Oloosuyian Girls’ Secondary School. Pray that their time at the school will be a blessing.

Preparations will soon begin for the various teams travelling next year to visit 10 different Global Partners. Pray for those staff and volunteers who will be involved in the processes of selection and training.

As the political crisis continues in Egypt, pray for the leaders of all the churches as they seek to speak words of wisdom into such a volatile situation. Pray that God will raise up leaders who have a heart for people, for peace and the freedom to worship.

Refuge Egypt runs many social care and outreach programmes. Looking ahead to 2015, they face financial constraints, with several funding agreements coming to an end. Please pray that resources will be provided, particularly for the Youth Mentorship Programme, capacity building and education and learning projects.
