Give thanks for the recent Anglican Consultative Council meeting in Lusaka, involving 100 lay people, priests and bishops and hosted by the Archbishop of Central Africa, Albert Chama. The meeting involved challenging discussions, but was characterised by worship described by Archbishop Welby as “one of the most joyful I have ever attended”.

ZAMBIA: Diocese of Northern Zambia
Pray for the new pre-school children’s ministry launched this year in the diocese by Archbishop Chama and also for Dolores Muchangani (Manager of the Early Childhood Development Programme) as she oversees 2 Field Officers & 176 volunteers working from 26 Regional Centres serving 2,100 vulnerable households (including 3,700 children).

Pray for the staff and students at St John’s Anglican Seminary, Kitwe. Ask the Lord to sustain the College in a challenging economic climate and to bless their ongoing projects, repairing the boundary wall damaged by floods and upgrading the library facilities.

Thank God for His presence among the participants in the peace and reconciliation meeting chaired by Bishop Wilson earlier this year, and the awareness and skills gained by pastors and their wives at a recent training programme. Pray for lasting peace and pastoral successes as a result of these events.

Pray for Ronnie in his extended role as Project Manager of all the Maasai Rural Training Centres in the Diocese of Kajiado. These centres have faced many challenges and they need to be assessed and revitalised. Pray that Ronnie would have wisdom to deal with them as they model positive Christian community development.

Give thanks for the harvest of tomatoes and beans at the Maasai Rural Training Centre in Oltiasika. Give thanks too for the tractor as it ploughs the community ‘shambas’ in preparation for replanting. This work will help the centre to be self-sustaining and provide much needed employment to the local community.

Pray for Maggie as she manages Osinoni Hideaway, a Retreat Centre at Oltiasika. Give thanks for the recent three-day seminar to train local Maasai women to work in the centre. Pray that the planned new marketing would produce good bookings and many visitors would come and be blessed in this special place.
