KENYA: Kajiado Diocese
Pray for all diocesan departments as they meet this month at Oltiasika Centre to plan for 2017, and for the last quarter of Bishop Gaddiel’s pastoral programme. Pray too for all clergy as they use the long school holidays to minister to young people.

Pray for Ven Naftaly Lemooke in his work as Development Coordinator for the diocese. Give thanks for the recent birth of Isaac Shuraki to Naftaly and his wife, Gladys. Pray for them and their other five children that they would be blessed as a family.

Pray for Ronnie as he continues to organise repairs to existing rainwater tanks to make the most of the rains, which are due this month. Please pray for good rains so that people may be able to plant food and harvest in due course.

Pray for Maggie that she will make a full recovery from pneumonia. Pray that she may return to full health in time to organise the hospitality for a diocesan staff retreat at the guesthouse in Oltiasika in December.

Ronnie and Maggie are due to return to Ireland on Home Assignment in March. Pray for them as they make plans for this visit – both for their work in Kenya while they’re away and for their time in Ireland with friends, family, link parishes and supporters.

A prolonged drought is impacting more than 45,000 households throughout the country. Eastern Province has been worst hit, with some areas having no rain since September 2015. Thank God that it has started raining in some areas. Pray for rain throughout the whole country and for food security programs to areas most in need.

Give thanks for the Diocesan Convention for provincial pastors, which took place last week. Pray for a great harvest spiritually and socially from this gathering and from similar events being held for Youth (9th – 12th December) and Clergy Children (15th – 18th December).

Pray today for Mbayaya Demonstration Farm, as it offers training opportunities to local crop farmers. Pray for farmers who have received this training, that this will have a good impact on their livelihoods. Remember those leading the programme over the year ahead.

The diocesan synod is scheduled for 13th – 14th December. Pray for safe travel for participants from all archdeaconries and pray that the decisions taken will be of benefit to God’s ministry and to people served by the diocese.

Pray for the leadership training, supported by CMSI, that is currently running for church ministers and lay leaders. The training includes teaching on church leadership and management, stewardship and discipleship. Pray for the diocese as they monitor this training and for the participants, that this will be fruitful.
