Uganda – Diocese of Luwero: Kiwoko Hospital’s ‘Good Samaritan Fund’ caters for patients unable to meet even the heavily subsidised bills they are expected to pay. Pray for wisdom for those administering this limited fund as they seek to ensure that those in genuine need are looked after, while trying to discern those who are able to pay for themselves.

Burundi – Gitega Diocese: Violence and insecurity started again in April 2008 and saw the FNL Palipehutu bombing the capital city of Bujumbura and the Provinces of Bubanza, Gitega and Kayanza – pray for a lasting end to violence in this troubled country.

Burundi – Diocese of Gitega: Both the Government and the Armed Rebel Movement delayed the implemention of the peace agreement signed in 2006. Recent fighting has worsened the situation for a population trying to recover from the wounds of 13 years of war. Please pray for the people of Burundi, that they would know God’s presence and healing.

Burundi – Gitega Diocese: The Archdeacon of Ruyigi, Rev Gabriel Rudogoga had a motorcycle accident and broke his shoulder. The treatment he had in Ruyigi hospital did not help and so, Bishop John is taking him to Bujumbura. Please pray for his recovery, his family and all the congregation members.

Burundi – Gitega Diocese: The change of climate in Burundi is affecting the harvest, in this their main agricultural season. Unless rain goes on for some more days, there will be hunger in the country – pray for rains and for a good harvest.

Uganda – Kigezi Diocese: Continue to pray for the Chilli Children Project which serves children in 3 Kigezi districts in S.W. Uganda. The Project helps over 5,000 disabled and orphaned children. The project workers – Evas, Nelson, Warren, Zaire, Generous, Jones & David pass on their thanks and love to everyone in Ireland who supports them. They pray for all of you and know in their hearts that you are praying for them too.

Surgical camps – Top UK surgeons perform surgery on children with disabilities. Occupational therapy – helping children to walk and move by trained therapists. Club foot programme – treatment to correct club feet. Deaf school – boarding fees paid for children who have lost a parent.
