Shine is CMSI’s annual members' day, which takes place every Spring in Dublin.
In light of the various measures that have been introduced to control the spread of COVID-19, the 2020 event has been cancelled. The Annual General Meeting will be rearranged for a later date.
Shine is one of the highlights in the CMSI annual calendar. It's an opportunity for members and supporters of the society to reflect over the past year and celebrate all that God has done through the society and our partners. It also offers a chance to look forward and to hear about CMSI's plans for the years ahead.
The programme for the day includes:
A warm welcome with tea and coffee (from 11am)
Our annual review (morning) - with worship, stories and reflections from the past twelve months
A shared lunch with time to chat and share together
Our Annual General Meeting, beginning at 2pm
The AGM includes presentations from our Mission Director and the Chair of the Board Of Trustees, as well as a financial report. There's also an opportunity for members to input into important decisions and to elect new trustees to the board.
Between 2016 and 2019, the event was held in the Emmaus Centre in Swords. In 2020, we planned to return to the Church Of Ireland Theological Institute, but the event had to be cancelled. We hope to return to CITI for future Shine events.
We offer transport by bus/minibus from Belfast, stopping en route (if required) at Sprucefield, Banbridge and Newry - we even provide a bacon butty! Places on the bus need to be booked in advance.
