On 1st December, CMSI launched its online carol service resource – Hope Dawns. Since then, additional material has been added to the selection. The videos are available to download for free via the CMSI website.
CMSI was joined by SAMS Ireland to produce this service, which is offered as a resource for churches as they prepare and host their own carol services – both online and live. It is also available for individuals and families who are keen to enjoy a carol service at home.
The service, which is based around the Advent themes of hope and light, includes readings and prayers led by members of the Church of Ireland family. Music for the carols and songs was provided by cathedral choirs and music groups from across Ireland. There are also four short stories of hope from the global Church – provided by CMSI and SAMS.
Two versions of the full service are available - the only difference being in the carols that are included. These one-hour videos can be viewed and downloaded, along with the individual video segments for each reading, song, story and prayer. This will allow churches to easily use shorter sections in their own services.
Over 60 individuals inputted to the service by reading, praying, singing or playing. CMSI offers its heartfelt thanks to each one for their contribution.
