Last Saturday (19th) saw CMSI host Ignite - its annual conference - which this year was an entirely online event.

Despite the disappointment of not being able to meet together in person, the event was a huge success. Over the course of the morning programme, almost 100 people from 12 different countries joined together to share greetings, hear updates, pray, worship and chat. The virtual forum ensured that many of CMSI's Global Partners were able to attend the meeting, bringing a truly internatio...

CMSI recently launched its new annual theme for 2020-2021: Voices Of Hope

Developing a theme

The new theme initially started out as the title for a week-long programme that CMSI had been planning for this, past August. The idea was to host 30 of our Global Partner leaders in Ireland, following the Lambeth Conference in England. We wanted to provide opportunities to listen to, and learn from, our partners. So, we called the programme Voices Of Hope.

But Covid put pay to those plans and...

On Tuesday 30th June, over 40 CMSI Members from across Ireland - and further afield - gathered together for the society’s Annual General Meeting. Due to the continued restrictions on large gatherings, the meeting was attended via Zoom video conferencing.

While the face-to-face fellowship and shared worship that normally marks this occasion were missing, this virtual approach enabled the AGM to proceed and helped connect folk from across the CMSI family. The response from those who took part has...

Last week, Bishop Hilary sent us his thanks for funds gifted by Lisburn Cathedral for pastors in Yei Diocese who were struggling to feed their families. He told us that he was able to support a total of 85 pastors throughout the current emergency.

However, Bishop Hilary also updated us that fighting has resumed around the Yei area. Just as the markets were beginning fill up with supplies again he told us that armed groups have been attacking the people doing business... ‘The people then fle...

As we look back over the past three months of lockdown, CMSI is inviting you to make lockdown count.

Redeeming Lockdown

Has the experience of ‘staying put’ meant you missed out on something you enjoy? Have you saved money by not doing something that you would normally do, or by not buying something you would otherwise have bought? Cinema or theatre visits? Takeaways? Weekend breaks? Petrol?

Would you like to redeem your lockdown losses by putting the money you've saved to positive use?* If so, here...

CMSI has moved its Belfast Office to Sir Thomas & Lady Dixon Park in South Belfast. The final move from Dargan Road was completed on 17th June and the new office is now fully operational.

This move has been a long time coming. Last summer, CMSI agreed the sale of the offices in Dargan Road and identified the Lady Dixon property as a suitable location for new offices. After many months of false dawns and delays, the move was finally set to begin on 24th March. Then, on the evening of 23rd March, t...

Over the past week, we have been hearing how some of our Global Partners have been using the funds sent to them in early May as part of the CMSI Covid-19 Response Appeal.

In all, over £20,000 was sent to support 12 Global Partners in seven countries as they respond to those in their own communities who have been impacted by the crisis and the lockdown measures.

Last week, Linda Abwa shared a story from Egypt, where funds sent through CMSI have been used to provide food aid for students at th...
