The CMSI Staff Team
Jenny Smyth
Mission Director
Jenny heads up CMSI and leads the staff team. She works with the CMSI Board of Trustees to provide leadership and direction for the society. She also oversees the partnership links with Burundi.

Jenny previously worked in both Uganda and South Sudan as a mission partner, initially with CMS Britain and then with CMSI. She then served on CMSI's Board of Trustees before joining the staff team in 2013 as a Partnership Coordinator. She was appointed Mission Director in 2015.
Gillian Maganda
Personnel Manager
Gillian oversees all of CMSI’s mission personnel and teams, as well as providing HR support for the staff.

Gillian joined the CMSI team in 2008, following six years of Mission Partner service in Egypt. She loves walking alongside people as they explore potential mission placements.
​
Gillian also oversees the partnership links with Zambia and with Luweero Diocese, Uganda.
Roger Thompson
Partnership Coordinator

Roger joined the CMSI team in 2015, after 11 years of parish ministry in Connor Diocese. In the late 1980s, he served as a CMS-Britain mission partner in Tanzania. His work includes developing the church links with our Mission Partners in Kenya and Zambia.
Linda Abwa
Partnership Coordinator

Linda joined the staff team in 2015, after a period of mission partner service in Nigeria with Mission Africa. Some of the Global Partners she works with are ministering in contexts of significant civil strife and upheaval - a particular challenge for the Church.
The Partnership Coordinators work alongside churches and Global Partners to develop strong, fruitful partnership links. They are the first port of call for link churches; they provide guidance and support; they help parishes to develop partnership plans. They also manage global funding programmes and help to organise teams and visits to and from our partners.
Admin Coordinator
Anne Buckley
Anne oversees all the financial aspects of CMSI's day-to-day work, including processing income, managing payments and updating financial records.
Anne is the longest serving member of staff, having joined the team in 1986. Over the years, she has worked in the Youth Department, the General Admin team and the Communications Department.
Megan Totten
Admin Coordinator
Megan provides the administration function for the society - including reception duties, mailings, PA support for the Mission Director and admin support for the rest of the staff.
Megan joined the team in April 2020.

Emma Lutton
Communications Coordinator
Emma coordinates CMSI's outgoing communications in-print, online and in-person events. She strategises outputs and supports staff in their various roles as they work together to share CMS Ireland's vision and mission.
Emma joined the team in July 2022.
