Children of God

Patti reflects on a domestic scene that illuminates a right relationship with God.

Patience set her chair next to her father and kept saying "Daddy! Daddy!" He looked at her sweet face smiling at him and smiled back. She asked for a cup of tea and brought her own teacup. He stopped what he was doing to give her what she asked for – took his time making it just right (Oops! Not sweet enough first try!). She took a sip and said, "Ahhhh".

It was a beautiful thing to behold.

Father, I want to come to you as Patience comes to her father... to call you Daddy until you turn your face to me and smile. Until you provide for my needs, in your time. Until you quench my thirst.

"May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace"
