CMSI Launches Advent Appeal

On 28th November - the first Sunday of Advent 2021 - the Church Mission Society Ireland launched its Advent Appeal.

(please write 'Advent Appeal' in the notes on the payment page)

The Advent Appeal invites individuals to stand with CMSI and its Global Partners as they seek to bring more of God's light and hope in situations of darkness and despair. It's an opportunity to give a gift of eternal significance and to help God's people, in local churches, share His transforming love in word and action.

CMSI's Mission Director, Jenny Smyth, recently wrote to the Society's members and supporters to thank them for their support and to highlight just some of the ways that their prayers and giving have enabled the global Church to build and extend God's kingdom in their own contexts. In announcing the Advent Appeal, Jenny wrote:

In CMS Ireland we would love to do even more: more to support the vision of local churches; more to strengthen churches to meet their neighbours’ needs. We can do this by enabling the different members of the body of Christ to share resources, engage in prayer together and encourage one another as we seek to become more like our Saviour. I would ask you to continue with us on the journey and I encourage you to consider making an extra gift as a response to our Advent Appeal. At this time of year, the Advent Appeal offers a tangible way to celebrate God’s Kingdom Come and to express our gratitude to the One who came to pitch His tent in the forgotten margins of the world, to bring heavenly hope and new life.

As you make your plans for Christmas and think of suitable gifts for loved ones, please consider giving a gift to CMSI, to help us keep the Church at the centre of mission.

Thank You.
