Jesus told his disciples in Luke 10:2 to “pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers.” This metaphor calls us to pray that people will be prepared to go and do the work of tending to others and sharing God’s good news. It is a simple prayer we can all pray.

In CMSI we encourage you to pray that God would draw people from every nation and culture throughout the world, to be prepared to go and serve. Couples such as Paul and Alison Guinness, CMSI mission associates serving in Burundi, are seeking to encourage the Burundian church to send their own workers to bring the Gospel to challenging places. Please pray for the Guinnesses and the wider church in Burundi.

While each context brings with it challenges, there are places that are particularly difficult to minister in. One of our local mission partners, Bishop Hassan, and his diocesan staff team are serving in extreme circumstances in the Nuba Mountains, Sudan. With ongoing conflict, government persecution, and humanitarian crises like food shortages and displacement, the church in Kadugali, located in the western region of South Kordofan, needs our prayers.

Prayer is a way in which we can all participate in the work of mission. CMSI’s monthly prayer room and focus events throughout the year help provide opportunities for you to hear from people living and serving as God’s hands and feet in the world today. This listening and learning together will help shape your intercessory prayers for our mission personnel and global partners.

We invite you to join with us in prayer – through our daily prayer diary or at our next online prayer event.
